The EyeStorm Women Speaker Programme
Sep 06, 2025
I first took part in the EyeStorm Speaker Programme for myself - to overcome my fear of public speaking.
Speaking out had always been a challenge for me, ever since I was little. Like many Highly Sensitive People, I carried endless limiting beliefs of “I’m not good enough.” For HSPs, speaking out can feel especially daunting because it makes us visible and therefore vulnerable, which goes directly against our primary instinct: to keep ourselves & the rest of our species safe.
But I also knew that if I wanted to reach more people to raise awareness of the sensitive trait and its advantages, public speaking was the obvious next step.
A Transformational Experience
I was blown away by Mi Elfverson, founder of EyeStorm Women and creator of the Speaker Programme. I admired her professionalism, her depth of knowledge about how to craft a talk, and her ability to get the very best out of each of us. The camaraderie within the cohort was really powerful too - we supported and encouraged one another every step of the way.
One of the highlights for me was having my talk professionally recorded on stage, in front of an audience, with a professional photographer capturing the moment. Not only did I achieve my dream of speaking confidently on stage, but I came away with evidence and marketing materials I could share.
From Participant to Co-Coach
I loved the experience so much that I went on to do a second talk - and then I asked to join the programme as an associate coach.
My role is to complement Mi’s expertise, supporting the women in the programme when those all-too-common fears about public speaking arise. I’m able to draw on a vast toolkit of techniques to help participants feel confident, let go of limiting beliefs, and create a talk that feels absolutely aligned and authentic.
When last-minute nerves, jitters, or even terror show up (and they always do), I’m there to help the women work through them. I use a mix of:
-
NLP techniques to build confidence and shift limiting beliefs
-
Essential oils to support regulation and calm the nervous system
-
NIA-inspired movement to support their physical presence on stage
